Reconfiguration of Kensington Mortgages' Head Office

This week, we have commenced work on a new design and build project for Kensington Mortgages, on Maidenhead Office Park. In 2020, our client began a review of their existing workplace in response to the changing office environment. They called upon Curve Workplaces to help evaluate the available scenarios which included the options of relocation or remaining in the current occupation. The decision was made to remain in their existing premises, review how to the workspace could be used more effectively and carry out the works in occupation. The design journey involved proposals for a new work style: bringing people together collectively, whilst finding a balance between collaborative and traditional workspace. The objective is to create a hub that employees will want to spend time in, once social distancing restrictions are eased. The vibrant and colourful brand identity is woven through the design using colour accents in the décor and furniture choices. The space features a variety of workspace and seating styles to suit the type of work or meeting being held - booths, high bench seating, sofas in hidden spaces, traditional workstations multimedia meeting tables and bleacher-style seating, suitable for town halls or group presentations. The acoustics for each zone have been carefully considered to ensure the client’s objective of creating an inspiring and open space, whilst limiting distractions is met.To further facilitate effective remote and office working, smart booking systems will be installed throughout. This will allow all meeting rooms and workstations to be booked remotely and give employees sight of who else is in the office so collaborative work can be arranged.
